LPD Make Two Drug Arrests

On Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at approximately 8:15 PM Lamar Police Officers responded to Walmart on a report of suspicious prescriptions being passed to the pharmacy.

Officers later arrested Julia Compton (Howards), 33 of Lamar, for four counts of fraud and three counts of possession of a schedule two controlled substance.

Ryan Birney, 26 of Lamar, was arrested for one count of fraud and one count of possession of a schedule three controlled substance.  Both subjects are being held at Prowers County Jail on individual $4000.00 bonds.

Ms. Compton resigned from the Lamar Fire Department on February 4, 2015.  Mr. Birney and the City of Lamar have terminated their employment agreement.
