Memorial Mass for Antonio Arrona, Sr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Las Animas, Colorado. Inurnment will follow in the Bent/Las Animas Cemetery.
Antonio Silbestre Arrona, Sr. was born on December 31, 1941 in Las Animas, Colorado to Manuala (Arrona) Flores. He passed away on December 15, 2014 at his home in Pueblo, Colorado.
Antonio attended Las Animas Schools and received his GED at Otero Junior College. He entered the service in 1959 and was transferred to the Army National Guard in 1963 until he retired in 1984. He worked at Fort Lyon VA Hospital as a Nurse Aid until going to work as a trackman for the Railroad in 1970. Due to failing health he retired in 1986. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Las Animas.
Antonio is survived by his wife, Doris of Pueblo, CO; children, Antonio Arrona, Jr. and wife, Terry, David Arrona, Sr., Bryan Arrona Sr. of Las Animas, Patrick Arrona and wife, Shonda of Las Animas, CO, Antonette Ilae and husband, Robert of Pueblo, CO, Lisa Arrona and Benjamin Leyba of Pueblo, CO, Tina Arrona and husband, Dion of Denver, CO, Anthony Crowder and Justice Lopez of Pueblo, CO, Elosia Crowder of Pueblo, CO, Robert Crowder of Pueblo, CO; sisters, Kathryn Palamino and husband, Benjie of Pueblo, CO and Mary of Mexico; brothers, Secorro and Eleysial of Mexico; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Andrew Paul and Charles Michael; two brothers, John and Mike.
