Helen Marie Mitchell…September 11, 1919 – November 21, 2014

Funeral services for Las Animas, CO resident, Helen Mitchell will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Las Animas.  Burial will follow at 1:00p.m. in the Haswell Cemetery.

Helen Marie (Sisson) Mitchell was born on September 11, 1919 to John and Lenna (Dent) Sisson in Oshage, Oklahoma.  She passed away peacefully at her home in Las Animas on November 21, 2014 at the age of 95.

Helen is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Wilson and husband, Douglas of Del Mar, CA;  Kathryn Johnson and husband, Richard of Rio Rancho, NM; two sons, James Mitchell and wife, Kristine of Fairbanks, AL; Allen Mitchell and wife, Donna of Cottonwood, AZ;  four step-children, Edward Mitchell and wife, Catherine of Douglas, WY; Rebecca Pointon and husband, Pat of Pueblo West, CO; Ellen Reinhart and husband, Paul of Portland, TX; Sherrill Tippie and husband, Cloid of Cedar City, UT; 13 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James Hollis Mitchell Sr.; second husband, Charles Robert Mitchell; and brother, Carl R. Sisson.
