Linked in Pink Activities Round Out October

Breast-Cancer---It's-Personal-Flyer

Local medical providers are sponsoring several information seminars and outdoor events to highlight the annual Linked in Pink, Breast Cancer Awareness Campaigns held in local settings across the country.

Women and their families are invited to the LCC Wellness Center, Saturday, October 25 from 9am to 1pm, for a ‘Git Fit and Relax’ event. A campus walk at the college will begin at 9am and participants to the day’s events will receive a $15 coupon for an appointment with the college’s Cosmetology department for a manicure/pedicure treatment.  Free chair massages will also be offered between 11am and 1pm.  The LCC Wellness Center will begin their annual drive for community memberships at that time, providing an opportunity to try out the exercise equipment.

Dr. Stacy Greenspan, Radiologist and Breast Care Specialist, will be the featured speaker on Monday, October 27 at the Lamar Community Building at Noon to discuss what she calls a “Jiffy Boob” discussion. Wednesday, October 29 will feature a ‘bring-your-lunch’ seminar from noon to 1pm at the Multi-purpose room at the Lamar Community Building.  Dr. Jessica Swanson, General Surgeon and Jeannie Cooper, OTR and Certified Lymphedema Therapist, will provide information regarding breast cancer.  Both providers will address personal impact, risk, choice, empowerment and success regarding treatment of the disease.

These Linked in Pink events are sponsored by Prowers Medical Center, High Plains Community Health Center, Prowers County Public Health and Environment, Southeast Health Group and Lamar Community College.
