Halloween, Trick – Trunk or Treat Events (updated events)

Here’s a rundown of some of the Halloween events that have been scheduled around Prowers County this year.

The annual Partners for Progress Fundraiser Haunted House at 210 West Elm Street will open its creaky doors to general admission October 24-25 and 30-31 at 7pm for $5 admission. Small Fry Haunted House will be October 31 from 5:30-7pm for $3. A special hearse tour of Lamar’s haunted spots is also available at $10. Proceeds go to the annual community 4th of July Fireworks display.
The Holly Nursing Care Center will have their Trick or Treat Street event on Thursday, October 30 at 4:30pm. Treats will be handed out and a costume judging contest will also be held. The Holly Commercial Club is donating the cost of the trophies that will be handed to the children.
The Commercial Club is challenging all the local businesses to dress in Halloween Costumes on the 30th. As children leave school and walk down Main Street, they will be the judge for the costumes and business decorations. Club members thought this would be a way of getting the kids involved for more of a fun afternoon.
The Granada Senior’s Halloween Party is set for October 27 from 6pm to 10pm.
“Trunk of Treats” is set for the Living Covenant Fellowship, Oct 31st, 6-8pm at 110 West Lee Avenue, Lamar. Games, prizes, candy and free cocoa and cookies for kids.
Lamar Estates, formerly Juniper Village in Lamar, will host their annual costume Treat Street for children 12 and under, beginning at 6pm on South 10th Street.
Moonlight Madness will be held in downtown Lamar on October 30 beginning at 5pm-“Eat, Drink & be Scary” is this year’s theme, and a Treat Street will run from 5-7pm @ the former Crafter’s Corners, 122 South Main, Lamar.
The Lamar Chamber of Commerce Honkers Halloween Comedy Night will be held at the Eagles Lodge on October 31. A meal, prepared by the Eagles, will be served starting at 6pm. Also on the 31st, the annual Halloween Trunk or Treat will be held at Lamar Library Parking Lot.
The annual McClave Trunk or Treat will be held October 31st and the soup and chili supper, hosted by the United Methodist Women begins at 5:30pm. The outdoor fun starts at 6pm. Families are invited to come in costume, decorate the family car and hand out candy.
