Erma Agnes Winters Murrah was born July 16, 1926 and departed this life on October 14, 2014. Erma was born to Inez Armstrong Winters and Charley Winters in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado.
Erma grew up in Cheyenne County between Arapahoe, Cheyenne Wells, and Kit Carson. Erma attended school at all three towns, but mostly at Cheyenne Wells.
Erma worked in restaurants, mainly as a cook and she did some waitressing. She preferred cooking as she liked to make good food and serve pretty plates as well as make large meals. Erma worked at Western Union also as a nurses aid and took care of the elderly.
Erma married Donald E. Good July 3, 1943. To this union three children were born: Russell Edward, July 10, 1944, Donald Lee, September 14, 1945 and Inez Ione, July 24, 1947. This union was dissolved in 1948.
Erma married Alfred Fredolf Bergquist, Sr. September 23, 1950. To this union was born three children: Alfred Fredolf, Jr., December 28, 1952; Elizabeth Ann, January 4, 1956; and Victor Paul, March 16, 1957. This union was ended July 30, 1967 in the death of Alfred.
Erma married George H. Murrah on December 19, 1973. George was killed in a car accident December 15, 1983.
Erma greatly enjoyed living at Cheyenne Manor and the many visits with her friends the last month of her life.
Erma leaves to mourn her children, Russell, Donald, Inez, Alfred, Elizabeth, and Victor, many Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Great-Great-Grandchildren and many Friends and Relatives. One Brother, Byron R Winters . She was preceded in death by a baby brother Charles Edward, 8 months, Parents Mr. & Mrs. Charley Russell Winters and Grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Albert Winters and Mr. & Mrs. Elwin Armstrong.
Memorial services were held on Friday October 17, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at the Cheyenne Wells Christian Church with Pastors Mike Lewis and Paul Gifford officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the Cheyenne Wells Christian Church in Cheyenne Wells. Funeral services for Erma were entrusted to the care of the Brown Funeral Home in Cheyenne Wells.
