Dear Chamber Members and Citizens,
There are a host of events happening next week, September 11-13, to celebrate the Third Annual Tri-State 9/11 Remembrance Tribute. This historic event is being held for our Nation and to honor those among us who risk their own lives for the safety of others. Doug Harbour and his 9/11 Remembrance Committee have taken this opportunity to pay a very special tribute to the men and women that serve our Nation and serve our community every day – a chance to thank them for the gift of freedom and safety that provide to each one of us.
The 9/11 Remembrance Committee will give special recognition to an area business which demonstrates an outstanding display of patriotism by decorating their storefront and/or windows with our Nation’s colors of Red, White and Blue.
• Red to symbolize hardiness and valor;
• White for purity and innocence;
• Blue to represent vigilance, perseverance and justice.
The Lamar Chamber of Commerce is very proud of the dedication and commitment of the 9/11 Remembrance Committee and all of the thoughtfulness behind each and every part of the 3rd Annual Tri State 9/11 Tribute.
Please welcome our honorable guests of veterans, active military and first responders who will join our community during this celebration. You can expect that we will have men, women and children coming to Lamar from more than five neighboring states and countless communities around our own state of Colorado. September 11th is a day of great reflection – our nation was forever changed.
Thank you to the 9/11 Remembrance Committee for creating an opportunity for our community to display patriotism, honor and reverence, and to share these values and history with our youth. We look forward to participating in the events and we encourage every citizen to join us.
Sincerely, Lisa M. Thomas,
President
Lamar Chamber of Commerce
