The number of calls for service dropped a bit at the Prowers County Sheriff’s Office, comparing 254 for June, to 323 for May of this year.  Lamar had 124 calls, including 20 arrest warrants, 35 jail related calls and 40 restraining orders and various papers were served for June.  The department responded to 96 calls for service in the County with 17 for traffic related situations, 11 for animal problems, three reports of theft and three arrest warrants.  Holly generated 19 calls for the month for an assortment of issues including traffic accidents, one vandalism case and one response each for theft and harassment.

A total of 619 people have been booked, year to date at the County Jail with 110 persons for this past June, of which 86 were male.  Last June, there were 114 bookings, of which 87 were male.  There have been 131 bookings for felonies since the start of the year, 203 for misdemeanors, 24 for traffic violations and 197 for warrants.  The jail averaged 43 inmates a day in June, with 48 the highest number and 39 the lowest for the month.  Security officers screened 6,902 visitors to the County Courthouse in June for a daily average of 329.  Security made three arrests on individuals who had warrants and were seen at the courthouse.

The cost of inmate meals for June was $10,154.44 and medical expenses were $2,043.53.  Year to Date expenses for June are $155,248.54 and revenue for the month was $44,192.99.
