Joe Nathan Briggs passed away on September 4, 2014 at his home in Holly, Colorado at the age of 71. He was born on October 19, 1942 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Compton and Mildred (Spruiell) Briggs.

Joe married Jill Cannon on December 28, 1963 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.  To this union they had three children.  Joe owned and operated his own swimming pool construction business for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Compton and Mildred Briggs, and a sister, Patsy Odom.

Joe is survived by his wife, Jill Briggs of the home; son, Laryl Briggs; daughters, Rhonda Graham and Jackie Herbison and husband, Steve; four grandchildren, Alicia (Briggs) Park, Ryan Graham, Emily Herbison, and Olivia Herbison; many other relatives and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Holly Blue Grass Festival, Holly Volunteer Fire and Ambulance, or Lamar Area Hospice in care of Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 950, Lamar, CO 81052.
