Safe Disposal of Outdated Prescription Drugs

On Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm the Lamar Police Department in cooperation with DEA will be participating in the ninth National Drug Take Back Initiative. This program is focused on providing convenient locations for the public to drop off excess, unused, and expired prescription and other medications.

The collection point will be in the front of the City Complex Building on the south end. Please feel free to pull into the front driveway from Parmenter Street and exit at Pearl Street. There will be representatives on hand to assist with the collection. There is no charge for the collection of the prescription medications.

We can only accept medications in pill form. We cannot accept needles, sharps, mercury thermometers, oxygen containers, chemo/radioactive substance, pressurized canisters, or other medical supplies.

Anyone with old or unwanted medications is encouraged to take part in the program.
