Colorado East Names New Bank President

Steve Sherlock, CEO, Colorado East Bank & Trust announced to staff Monday, August 11th, the promotion of Brenda May, EVP, to the position of President of the Lamar Bank. Brenda replaces long time employee and President George Gotto who earlier in July announced his retirement. Gotto will remain at the bank in his roll as commercial loan officer while a search is conducted to fill that position.
Gotto was named Lamar Bank President with the departure of Dave Reyher who became the Bank’s Regional President and bank president of the Buena Vista branch in March, 2007.
May began her banking career as a receptionist and loan secretary with Valley State Bank in 1985. She later took a position with Colorado East in 1994 advancing to the position of Executive VP/Human Resources. May holds a BS Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, Graduate Degree in Banking from New Mexico University’s Western States School of Banking and a certification as a Professional in Human Resources.
May will be managing a bank of $52 million in assets with a staff of 24, including an insurance agency, mortgage department and wealth management.
Lamar is the parent bank of Colorado East with 238 employees and 19 locations in Colorado and Kansas.
