Brief Court Appearance August 6 for Sisneros

Mikel Logan Sisneros, 21, of Lamar had his first day in court, Wednesday, August 6, to face charges stemming from the assault on Rudy Ray Munez, also of Lamar. According to a Lamar Police Press Release Sisneros was determined to be a suspect in the alleged beating of Munez, which occurred on Friday, July 25, in the alleyway behind 100 North Main Street in Lamar. Munez was found by Lamar Police in the rear of 109 Hickory Street and taken to Prowers Medical Center and later to Parkview Hospital in Pueblo for treatment of a severe head injury.
Sisneros was taken into custody by police at his residence at 201 South Main Street and was initially charged with 2nd Degree Assault. The Lamar Police Department stated that the investigation is ongoing and anyone having information about the crime is urged to contact the LPD. Sisneros has been held at Prowers County Jail on $50,000 bail. Munez died in Pueblo on July 29, and as a result, additional charges are expected.
The people were represented by Attorney Joshua Vogal and Sisneros was represented by Public Defender Gail Morrison from La Junta. The next court appearance for Sisneros will be Wednesday, August 27 for a motion and bond hearing.
