Packing the Park with Family Fun Day

The second annual, LiveWell Prowers County, Family Fun Day had a full crowd enjoying perfect summer weather this past Saturday, June 28 at Willow Creek Park.

The Lamar Swimming Pool hosted residents of all ages for a free swim from 1 to 5pm, as families found the perfect way to stave off some of the summer heat, as daytime highs were in the upper 90s and low 100s this past Saturday and Sunday.

The morning events began with a 9am Family Fun-Walk-Run or Ride event around the Park, followed by a bike rodeo at 10am and a noontime picnic.

The winds picked up a little in the evening, but not enough to compete against the Family Field Day events at 7pm and people were out in full force for the popular outdoor theater, a Free Family Movie Night.  Folks brought lawn chairs and blankets and either munched on popcorn supplied by the organizers, or some snacks of their own.  The inflatable movie screen was anchored against the evening breezes as it’s turning out to be a worthwhile investment for years to come.
