A Celebration of Life for longtime Lamar resident, Gary W. Peyton will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Lamar High School Auditorium with Pastor Troy Greer and Pastor Ramon Robledo of the United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.

Visitation for Gary will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 1:00PM until 7:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.

Gary was born on February 18, 1938 at Pekin, Indiana to William “Bill” and Elsie (Balentine) Peyton and passed away on July 2, 2014 at the Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado at the age of 76 with his family by his side.

Gary was in banking for 52 years at First National Bank and Colorado East Bank and Trust. Gary’s hobbies were ranching, gardening, fishing, hunting, wood working, leather craft, poker, telling stories, life and people.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws; Bill and Mildred Quinn.

Gary is survived by his wife; Carolyn Peyton of the family home in Lamar, son; Steve (Tawny) Peyton of Berthoud, CO, daughter; Kelly (Scott) Glahn of Windsor, CO, grandchildren; Logan Glahn, Tanner Glahn, Kylee Glahn and Andrew Gray; by his sister Wanda (Harry) Bradshaw, his nephew Jo (Angie) Bradshaw and his niece Lee Anna (Mike) Stern, as well as other family and a host of friends.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar United Methodist Church, the Lamar Animal Sanctuary Team (LAST), or to a charity of donor’s choice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
