Beatrice S. Martinez…August 15, 1930 – July 7, 2014

A funeral service for long-time Prowers County resident, Beatrice S. Martinez, will be held at  9:30 AM and Rosary at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Charles Sena officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar. Visitation for Beatrice will be held from 1:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar, CO.

Beatrice was born on August 15, 1930 in Barney, New Mexico to Inosencio and Dela Sanchez and departed this life on Monday, July 7, 2014 in Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colorado at the age of 83.

Beatrice was a homemaker most of her life except for working for Pepsi Cola Company for 15 years.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents; by her first husband, Eloy Gonzales, and by her second husband, Manual Martinez; by her brothers Eloy and Amadeo Sanchez; by her sisters Estella Sanchez, Adelina Armijo, and Gloria Espinosa; and by her great grandson Gabriel Peters.

Beatrice is survived by her children Eloy (Gloria) Gonzales of Littleton, CO., Gilbert Martinez of Lamar, CO., Maria (Bill) Council of Ellerbe, NC., George Martinez of Lamar, CO., and Richard (Ann) Martinez of Mathis, TX. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
