Alice F. Rivera…June 21, 1928 – July 24, 2014

A Funeral Mass for lifelong Lamar resident, Alice F. Rivera will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 28, 2014 at St. Francis De Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend Charlie Sena as Celebrant. The Holy Rosary, recited by Deacon Allan Medina, will be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, July 27, 2014 also at the church. A Rite of Committal will follow the Mass at the Fairmount Cemetery.

Per Alice’s request there will be no public viewing.

Mrs. Rivera was born on June 21, 1928 at Lamar, CO to Candelario Bueno and Guadalupe (Flores) Leal and passed away at the home of her home in La Junta on July 24, 2014 at the age of 86.

Alice is preceded in death by her husband Manuel G. Rivera on December 5, 1988 as well as her parents, a sister Tavy Alvarado and her brothers Lalo Leal and Henry Leal.

She is survived by her children; David (Mary Ann) Rivera of Sierra Vista, AZ,  Rebecca (Victor) Jacobs, Jr. of Colorado Springs,  Suzanne Rivera of La Junta, Judy (Rudy) Torres of Lamar, Veronica (Claude) Blevins of Westminster, CO, Nancy (Gary) Logan of Colorado Springs and Daniel Rivera also of Colorado Springs.  Alice is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as her siblings; Jesse (Hortencia) Leal of Littleton, CO, Lalo (Rachel) Leal of Granada and Bessie (Don) Peters of Lamar as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church direct or in care of Peacock Funeral Home.
