Valeria Sue Mills…July 12, 1947 – June 2, 2014

A celebration of life service for Valeria “Sue” Mills will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Horber Funeral Chapel in Las Animas, Colorado. A rosary/scripture service will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Las Animas, Colorado at 9:30 a.m., followed by mass at 10:00 a.m. Father Ray Grimes will officiate.  Public visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Horber Funeral Chapel in Las Animas.

Valeria “Sue” Mills was born July 12, 1947 to Victor and Anna Belle Wadhams in Las Animas, Colorado. She worked in the restaurant business for most of her life, starting out as a waitress but eventually earning her dream of becoming a restaurant owner.  At a young age, Sue learned the crafts of sewing, crocheting, baking and cooking from her mother and she carried these traditions on in her own life and shared them with all she loved and cared about. A fantastic mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Sue loved her family more than life itself.   She passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014 at her residence in Brush, Colorado at the age of 66.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Georgia Ann and husband, Jeff Woelk of Colorado Springs; sons, Monte and wife, Cindy Mills of Calhan and Glen and wife, Angela Mills of Puyallup, Washington; brothers, John and wife, Raeana Wadhams of Pueblo, Steve and wife, Val Wadhams of Mitchell, Nebraska, and Richard and wife, Wendy Wadhams of Littleton; sisters, Claire and husband, Calvin Bogner of Colorado Springs, and Martha Beth and husband, Rick Ward of Bonifay, Florida; and grandchildren, Sierra Sue Woelk, Shayla K. Mills, Allen Michael Mills, and Mickey DeLane Mills along with many four-legged grandchildren. She is also survived by many other relatives and a host of friends.

Sue is preceded in death by her father, Victor Frederick Wadhams, mother, Anna Belle Goodman Wadhams, and one nephew, Dustin DeWayne Ward.
