Funeral services for Douglas L. Harris will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Horber Funeral Chapel in Las Animas. Burial will follow in the Bent/Las Animas Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Harris will be on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Douglas Lee Harris was born on July 3, 1956 in La Junta, Colorado to Max and Wilma (Stephens) Harris. He passed away on June 20, 2014 at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, CO at the age of 57.
Douglas had a passion for traveling, especially to Sturgis. He enjoyed camping and just spending time outdoors. Douglas attended 8th and Grace Church of Christ in La Junta.
He is survived by his sister, Claudia Burkepile and husband, Jerry; niece, Amber Burkepile; uncle, Loyal Stephens and wife, Ilene all of Las Animas, CO; aunt, Jacqueline Ford of Fort Collins, CO; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Max Harris and Wilma Harris.
