Ribbon Cutting for LCC Trades and Welding Program

Students, instructors, LCC officials and members of the Lamar Chamber of Commerce turned out for ribbon cutting ceremonies this past Wednesday, April 30 at the dedication of the facilities for the Construction Technology Program at Lamar Community College.

The Construction Technology program has seen a significant enrollment increase in the past several years, prompting the need for increased classroom and hands-on training space. The welding program required improvements to handle the growing number of students to include electrical infrastructure and ventilation. The renovation began last August and was completed this past February and funded through Title III grants originally funded to LCC five years ago. Improvements included cross-vent tables, a cooling system and increased electrical capacity, three-fold.
