An educational forum on the type, amount, impact and scope of drugs in the Lamar community will be held on Tuesday, May 20, from 6:30pm to 8pm at the Cultural Event Center.
Drugs are in our neighborhoods, our schools and our workplaces. Drugs are being used by our family and friends. A number of questions regarding drugs will be answered including: What do they look like? What do people act like when they’re using different types of drugs? What is “paraphernalia”? Would you know it if you saw it?
Some facts of various drugs will be presented including: cough syrup, heroin, methamphetamine, prescription medications and cocaine.
The forum is presented by Prowers County Senior Deputy Sam Zordel, Colorado State Patrol Corporal Vince Benavides and the Southeast Colorado Substance Abuse Task Force
