Rocky Mountain SER Opens in New Lamar Location

On Friday, January 24, 2014 the Lamar Chamber of Commerce “Honkers” made a visit to the new location of Rocky Mountain SER. The employment and training agency has moved to a new location in Lamar and is now located at 20 South Main Street, Suite 2. The organization was formerly co-located with the Lamar Workforce Center and moved to their new location on September 1, 2013. Gerry Jenkins, Field Representative for the RMSER Lamar office continues to work with individuals seeking employment and training who have a former background working in agriculture or farmwork. Gerry can assist with On-the-Job Training, Tuition Assistance for college or training, work experience and supportive services to eligible clients. The local program is funded by the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) 167 National Farmworker Jobs Program which is granted to RMSER from the United States Department of Labor.
Rocky Mountain Service Employment and Redevelopment is a state-wide non-profit organization with over 500 employees. The organization also provides Head Start and Migrant Head Start services in many areas of Colorado. The state-wide Workforce Director for Rocky Mountain SER is Leon Ortega of the La Junta office.
