2014 will be a busy political year, the November General Elections notwithstanding.  A forum for candidates for Prowers County Sheriff has been scheduled for Monday, February 24 at 7pm at the Cultural Events Center, sponsored by Voices of Southeast Colorado and Second Amendment Defenders of Southeast Colorado.  Democrat and Republican Caucuses are set for March 4, a Prowers County Commissioners seat is expiring, municipal elections for Trustees for Holly, Granada and Wiley will be held April 1 and the board of director’s election has been announced for Prowers Medical Center.

The PMC election will be held Tuesday, May 6 from 7am to 7pm.  Three directors will be elected to serve four year terms and one director will be elected for a two year term.  Eligible electors from the Prowers County Hospital District who wish to run for the board may contact the hospital Designated Election Official, Audrey Kane.  The deadline to submit a Self-Nomination and Acceptance form is at the close of business on Friday, February 28, 2014.  Write-in candidates have until March 3 to submit their application.  The four current board members whose terms are expiring are:  Candy Ruedeman, Marjorie Campbell, Julie Branes and P.
