Maria Flores…November 3, 1945 – January 18, 2014

            Mass of Christian burial for Maria Flores will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2014 at St. Francis De Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lamar, Colorado.  Father Charles Sena will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery.  Rosary will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar.  Visitation for Maria will be held from 1:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

            Maria Flores, 68, of El Sauz, Zacatecas, Mexico passed away on January 18, 2014 at Sangre De Cristo Hospice in Pueblo, Colorado after a long battle with diabetes.  Maria was born November 3, 1945.  She was the daughter of Pablo and Teresa Mungaray and loving wife of Eusebio Flores.

            On May 25, 1968 Maria married her husband of 46 years, Eusebio Flores.  To this union they had six children. Maria worked as a cook until her retirement in 1995, bringing her love of cooking home to share for many occasions.  She also spent time babysitting and playing with her grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

            Maria is survived by her husband, Eusebio; three sons, Juan (Rachel) Flores, Nicolas Flores (Rosario Rodriquez), and Pablo Flores(Nisully Martinez); three daughters, Manuela (Jesus) Gallegos, Magdalena Flores (Federico Lira), and San Juana (Mike) Reyes; 18 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren all of Lamar; many other relatives and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her parents Pablo and Teresa (Mungaray) Rodriguez.
