Start the New Year by Recycling your E-Waste

Did you receive a new TV, computer, microwave or any other electronic item for Christmas?  If so, now what do you do with the old equipment that you’re replacing?  Don’t throw it away in the trash!  Studies have shown that accumulated components of some electronic equipment are harmful to the land.  A state statute enacted this past summer prohibits indiscriminate disposal of e-waste materials.  But there is an easy solution.

Lamar Partnership Inc would like to remind you that e-waste recycling will be available Saturday, December 28, from 10 a.m. To 2 p.m.   Items can be dropped off on the north side parking lot of Lamar Thriftway. Plastic recycling is also available. There is a minimal fee in order to cover our costs to transport the waste to our partner recycling centers. The plastic and waste recycling center is open every second and fourth Saturday of each month. For more information please contact LPI executive director, Shawna Hodge at (719) 688-8073.
