On October 25th the Lamar Honkers stopped by the City Complex to welcome Roberto Becerill to Lamar and to his new position as Planning & Community Development Director for the City of Lamar. Roberto has experience and ideas that Lamar will benefit from now and in the future. Following is some basic information on Roberto.

Roberto Becerril, CFM has 10+ years of professional experience in urban planning, site development and land use. He received a B.L.A in Planning and Landscape Architecture degree from Utah State University and an A.A.S in civil engineering from Salt Lake Community College. Prior to becoming employed by the City of Lamar as the Director of the Planning and Community Development Department, Roberto was a Planner for the City of Garden City, KS. Through his career, Roberto has gained experience in Residential, Commercial, Corporate and Higher Education planning. Furthermore, with over 25 years’ experience in AutoCAD and along with other technical skills, he has developed guidelines and trained employees in various areas of development. His engineering background has been an asset in coordinating urban planning and design with engineering and architecture disciplines. Roberto enjoys taking road trips with his family, and experiencing the diversity each place has to offer.
