Lamar, CO—November 30— Former Lamar resident author and screenwriter Dianne E. Butts will bring her five books to Lamar’s Brew Unto Others Saturday November 30th. Since she lived in Lamar from 1992 – 2000, Dianne has written five books with a sixth releasing next month and a contribution to a collaborative novel also releasing next month. Her latest books include the nonfiction “Prophecies Fulfilled” series.
“I’m excited to come back to Lamar and bring my books to share with all my friends there,” Dianne said. “With Christmas coming, my book Prophecies Fulfilled in the Birth of Jesus makes a fantastic gift or even a pre-Christmas study for individual readers, families to read together, book clubs, Bibles study groups, or Sunday school classes.”
For the book, Dianne investigated thirty-five different prophecies. Each chapter focuses on one prophecy and showcases who wrote it and when, often centuries before the birth of Jesus. Then she follows up with how and when the prophecy was fulfilled. The book includes Bible passages to read and questions to ponder or discuss.
Dianne’s second book, Deliver Me, originated from her days in Lamar. With more than fifty heart-warming true stories of unplanned pregnancy from across the nation, this book opens with a true story that occurred in Lamar and involved the Pregnancy Assistance League (P.A.L.) where Dianne served on the board of directors. In 2011 Dianne wrote, directed, and co-produced a short film based on a true story in Deliver Me. The film was shot in Pueblo.
Dianne moved to Lamar in 1992 with her husband, Hal, then a Sergeant with the Colorado State Patrol. Dianne became an active member of the Lamar Writer’s Group. They moved to Limon after Hal was promoted to Captain in 1999, and then to Pueblo when he was promoted to Major in 2004. He has since retired and they continue to reside in Pueblo.
Dianne will be at Brew Unto Others, 119 S. Main, Saturday November 30th from 8:00 – 1:00. Please plan to stop by and meet this author and screenwriter, and bring your writing, publishing, and screenwriting questions. Dianne will have all of her books on hand.
