Lamar Police Apprehend Fleeing Suspect

On October 16, 2013 at approximately 10:30 A.M. officers attempted to contact a vehicle in the 300 block of East Olive Street.  The driver of the vehicle, Mateo Cabello, 25, attempted to elude officers and parked the vehicle in the 500 block of Wilson Place after a short vehicle pursuit.  Cabello exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Cabello was captured by an off-duty officer in the 700 block of South Mullen Street. Cabello was transported to Prowers County Jail where he is held on $10,000.00 bond for the pursuit and related charges and $2, 759.00 for four outstanding warrants.
