Information for November General Election for Prowers County Voters

Jana Coen, Prowers County Clerk and Recorder has compiled some necessary information for Prowers County voters for the November General Election. 

This year will see a Coordinated Mail Ballot Election.  This means there will be NO voting at a polling location on November 5.  All balloting will be conducted by mail.  The Clerk and Recorder’s office will have ballots mailed to all active registered voters.  The ballots will be mailed out between October 15 and October 18.  

Make sure you address is correct.  Have you added a PO Box, had a name change or are you changing your political party affiliation?  If you have questions about your registration information, contact the Clerk and Recorder’s office at 719-336-8011.  You can check your voter registration information online at www.govotecolorado.com.  If you have moved or need to update your registration for any reason, you may be inactive.  Inactive voters will not have a ballot automatically mailed. 

What Will Be on the November 5, 2013 Coordinated Mail Ballots?

State of Colorado questions; Wiley School District Re-13JT Council Candidates, Ballot Issue 3A and Ballot Question 3B; Granada School District RE-1 Council Candidates. 

Important Dates for 2013 Coordinated Election:

  • Tuesday, October 15 – Friday, 18, 2013: Ballots will be mailed to all Active eligible electors.
  • Tuesday, October 15, 2013: Last day to submit a paper registration application by mail, through a   Voter Registration Drive, at an agency, or at the Department of Motor Vehicle for the Coordinated Election. 
  • October 15-October 18, 2013:  Ballots will be mailed to all active registered electors.
  • Voted Ballots can be returned:  by mail with appropriate postage affixed or in person any time after receiving the ballot in the mail, but no later than Election Day November 5, 2013 by 7:00 p.m. to Prowers County Clerk & Recorder, 301 S. Main St., Ste. 210, Lamar, CO 81052.
  • Monday, October 28, 2013: Last day to register to vote online for the November 5, 2013 Coordinated Election (www.govotecolorado.com).
  • Saturday, November 2, 2013: Clerk & Recorder’s Office will be open for return of mail in ballots, issue replacement ballots or register to vote or address changes.
  • Tuesday, November 5, 2013: ELECTION DAY (Prowers County Clerk and Recorder’s Office is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. No other Polling Place/Voter Service/Polling Centers will be available.)  Return your mail in ballot to Prowers County Clerk & Recorder 301 S. Main St., Ste. 210, Lamar, CO 81052
