Folks enjoyed perfect weather for the final weekend of summer in Hasty, Colorado, site of the 6th Annual Hasty Daze celebration, September 21.
Vendors set up their tables and tents Saturday morning, while parade entries began to line up for the 10am procession, sponsored by the Bent County Chamber of Commerce.
Part of the preparations for the day’s events included marking off the grid for the Horse Apple Squares Sale and making sure the lunch sponsored by the Southeast Colorado Cattlewomen was set to go.
There was plenty of food for the attendees with the Pierce Pit BBQ served up between 5:30pm and 7pm, followed by the street dance which was scheduled from 7 to 11pm that evening.
$5,000 in local scholarships have been donated to local students, raised mostly in part by entry fees for the numerous events held for the annual get-together.
