Fire Department Incident Reports August 22, 2013

At 2:36pm on Wednesday, August 21, fire personnel were dispatched to South Main Street and Lynn Street in Lamar on report of a two vehicle accident with injuries.  Upon arrival at the scene, fire personnel found an accident in the northbound lanes of Main Street.  A Chevy pickup with damage to the left front corner sat in the east lane facing north, and a Jeep was found in the west lane facing north with damage to the right rear of the vehicle.  The occupant of the pickup was walking around and denied medical treatment even though his driver’s side air bag had deployed.  The driver of the Jeep was found in the driver’s seat, receiving attention from the ambulance crew.  No fluids were spilled.  Fire crew blocked traffic South of the accident and assisted EMS crew in loading the patient.  Fire personnel remained on the scene until another car from the Police Department arrived to assist with traffic control.
