Two Vehicle Crash Closes Highway 50 near Hasty

On  Friday morning, July 12, 2013 at approximately 06:15 hours, an accident occurred on Highway 50 near milepost 410, which is located approximately five miles west of Hasty, in Bent County Colorado.  

A green 2002 Ford Explorer, driven by Tricia McIntire of Springfield, Colorado was traveling westbound on Highway 50.  The Explorer traveled into the eastbound lane of Colorado 50 and collided with a white 2012 International Truck, pulling a trailer, which was driven by Michael Traver of Swink, Colorado.  

The driver of the Explorer was transported by ambulance, and she sustained minor injuries. The driver of the International did not sustain any injury. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. 

The driver of the Explorer was charged with careless driving.  Colorado 50 was closed for approximately one hour.
