Prowers Medical Center to Host Picnic at State Baseball Tournament

(Lamar, CO) July 12, 2013 – Next week Lamar is hosting the Babe Ruth 13 and Under Boys State Baseball Tournament.

In response to the “support challenge” initiated by Frontier Bank, Prowers Medical Center will play host to the traditional tournament picnic to welcome the participants and families to our community.

The picnic will be held on Friday, July 19^th at 5:00 pm in the roadside park located just to the east of the Merchants Park baseball field.

We encourage the community to join us in supporting the youth of our community and Babe Ruth Baseball.  Coaches and players will gain entry to the picnic for free while families, spectators and community members are encouraged to participate for a small fee.

Proceeds from the tournament will go towards equipment for the local Babe Ruth program.

The tournament will run from Friday, July 19^th through Monday, July 22^nd and the Prowers Medical Center Healthcare Team will be providing a Medical Tent and First Aid Station throughout the event.

Please join us in the community celebration as we host the “ice breaker picnic” for the many players, coaches and their families that will be a part of our community during this four (4) day event.  This is an opportunity to welcome them to our community and demonstrate our small town spirit and community pride.
