Dig up some fun and “Dig Into Reading”
Readers of all ages will explore the underground this summer as they “Dig into Reading,” the theme of the 2013 Summer Reading Program which will begin on Tuesday, June 11th at 1:30 pm. Teens will enjoy their theme of “Beneath the Surface” beginning June 10th at 10:00 am.
These programs are powerful tools parents can use to help ensure their children read during the summer months, which studies have shown enhances students’ academic success and overall literacy.
Lamar Public Library’s Summer Reading program is a great way for adults to ensure that children continue to read, and this year’s themes are sure to present many opportunities to attract young readers.
In addition to helping improve children’s reading skills, Lamar Public Library will sponsor a series of entertainers as part of the Summer Reading Program.
“Moving & Grooving with Beth Epley” will kick off the Children’s Summer Reading Program on Tuesday, June 11th at 1:30 pm.
