Lamar City Sales Tax–Down Monthly, Up Yearly

City of Lamar Sales Tax Revenue dropped slightly for April sales collected this past May, according to the City Clerk’s Office. There was a 3.93% difference, or $10,500.53 between revenues for 2013 compared to 2012. Current Total sales and Use Tax collections are at $256,961.36 compared to $267,461.89 in 2012.
Year to Date tax revenues still posted a gain of 2.5% since this January. City Sales Tax revenues were up a fraction at 0.70%, but combined with Use Tax collections and Other collections categories, there was a gain of $35,717 year to date between 2012 and 2013. Total sales and Use Tax collections for the city are at $1,462,430.24, compared to $1,426,712.76 for 2012.
The twelve Retail Sales Categories for tax collections, year to date, are mostly split on increases and declines, 2012 compared to 2013.
