The Prowers County Sheriff’s Department responded to 282 calls for service this past April, 2013.  Lamar posted 151 calls of which two were for drugs and three were DUI’s.  Lamar had 19 warrant arrests and of the 151 total calls, 68 were jail related.  There were 94 calls for service from the County of which 17 were traffic accidents and related highway problems.  Three thefts were reported, two burglaries and nine calls for animal problems and two for domestic violence.  The sheriff’s department responded to 24 calls from Holly with three of them for criminal mischief and two for harassment and for thefts.  The department issued 11 warning tickets and 11 traffic citations, as well as six criminal summonses.  One new case was assigned for investigation and 17 cases were cleared.  Fourteen charges were attributable to the investigations and eight cases are still active. 

Bookings at the county jail total 453, year to date with 347 male and 106 female.  This past April had 120 people booked, compared to 111 last year at this same time.  Five inmates have been reported to immigration authorities. 

The Prowers County Courthouse had 6,495 people entering on business this past April for a daily average of 295.  Nine arrests were made by courthouse security on current warrants.  One citizen was injured when his hand was caught in the court house door when the wind slammed it shut. 

Detective Weisenhorn and Parole Officer Nelson arrested 32 year old Many Dixon-Ausbun and 27 year old Tracy Ausbun, both of Lamar, for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Both were held on $4,000 bond each.  Detective Weisenhorn contacted a suspicious vehicle at Willow Creek Park.  Nancy Duarte, 35, of Lamar and Raquel Trujillo, 29, also of Lamar, were arrested for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Both subjects were held on $4,000 bond. 

Cost of inmate meals for April was $9,812.84 and medical expenses were $587.19.  April expenses were $189,789.33.  Revenue for that month was $32,330.55.
