LPD and County Sheriff’s Department Nab Armed Robbery Suspect

On Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at approximately 2:32 AM, officers from the Lamar Police Department and deputies from the Prowers County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 300 block of East Olive Street on report of an armed robbery.  Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office spotted a male running in the area and a perimeter was set up.  Officers and Deputies began searching the area and located Adam Zavala, 28, of Lamar hiding inside the perimeter.

Officers and deputies located money close to the area where Zavala was located.  Officers also located other evidence in the vicinity where Zavala was seen running from.

Zavala was arrested for aggravated robbery, felony menacing, and theft and is being held at the Prowers County Jail on $20,000.00 bond.
