Lamar Alco Store Donates To Hospice

Hospice Dontation

The Lamar Alco Store donated thousands of dollars’ worth of hardware to the Lamar Area Hospice Organization. The donation was in order when the store secured a new vendor and needed to remove all existing hardware from the shelves in order to restock. The items included paint and supplies, tools, ceiling fans, heaters, fans, extension cords, light bulbs, cleaning products, plumbing items and much more. Lamar Area Hospice has shared some of the wealth with other non-profits in the area. In addition, Lamar Area Hospice partners with several volunteer groups from the Lamar Christian Church and the Nazarene Church who do home repairs and build handicap ramps for hospice families and seniors and much of the paint and supplies will be set aside for these groups. According to Deb Pelley, the donation was a wonderful surprise and so much of the merchandise has and will be incredibly useful as we set up business in our new building. We will use and store most of the goods and then sell the surplus at a community yard sale on Saturday morning, May 11th. The sale will take place in front of the Lamar Area Hospice Center from 8 until noon.
