Honkers Visit Dr. Barry Portner, OB/GYN

The Honkers of the Lamar Chamber of Commerce stopped by to visit Dr. Barry Portner at High Plains Community Health Center. Dr. Barry Portner, Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, joined the medical staff at High Plains the first of April, expanding the scope of services now available for women in the community. Dr. Portner’s patients include women of all ages and girls beginning at age fourteen. Some of the services provided by Dr. Portner include: specialized obstetric care, gynecological surgery, family planning and women’s health. After completing his residency in 1967, Dr. Portner served two years with the United States Air Force before practicing many years as an Ob/Gyn physician in the Baltimore area. Dr. Portner has served the families of Southeastern Colorado for more than nine years and “High Plains is very honored to have a physician such as Dr. Portner join our staff,” notes Jay Brooke, High Plains Executive Director. Dr. Portner is currently accepting new patients and appointments can be made by calling the High Plains medical office at 719-336 – 0261.
