Tuesday, April 30
At 9:53 am on Tuesday, April 30, Lamar Fire personnel were dispatched to an unauthorized burning at 1411 S. 9th Street in Lamar. Upon arrival at the location, a small pile of leaves and other yard waste was found burning in the yard. Fire personnel advised the occupant of the city burning regulations and how to obtain a burn permit. The occupant extinguished the fire.
Wednesday, May 1
AT 3:09 pm on Wednesday, May 1, Lamar Fire personnel were dispatched to a vehicle accident with injuries located at 6000 W. Highway 50 in Lamar. The accident involved two semis and the report from dispatch stated that the Fire Department was needed to perform an extrication from one of the semis. Upon arrival at the accident, personnel found that the cab of one semi was torn off the chassis and upside down. Extrication stabilization was in place, and two passengers were inside the cab. The extrication was very time consuming because one passenger was pinned down by the seat and steering column. Both passengers were freed and removed from the vehicle.
