Wellness Expo Underway in Lamar

Area residents, concerned about their healthy and healthy lifestyles, turned out in force, Tuesday, April 16, for the first day of the 3rd Annual Community Wellness Expo at the Lamar Community Building.  The two day event runs from 6am to 10am with many free screenings, booths pertaining to health information and several low-cost health fair labs.

More than a dozen health oriented booths were available in the community building’s gym, while members of the High Plains Community Health Center staffed such booths offering cholesterol and thyroid exams, bone health and diabetes, gout, anemia, heart enzymes and kidney, liver function and a blood prostate exam…all for a minimum fee. 

Lions Club Members Offer Eyesight Information

The event this year was sponsored by HPCHC and Frontier Bank and offered patrons an opportunity to enjoy some breakfast food items, register for prizes and giveaways and receive information regarding tobacco cessation techniques, Be Well Colorado Class info, dental information, nutrition info and recipes and various outreach services available to the general public.  The Expo will end Wednesday.
