Two Injured in Tractor/Car Collision

The Colorado State Patrol is investigated a traffic accident that involved an implement of husbandry (farm equipment) and a passenger vehicle. The location of the accident was Prowers County road 8 and Prowers County road RR approximately 7 miles north of Lamar, CO.
Both vehicles were northbound on County road 8. The farm tractor was attempting to make a left turn onto County road RR when a 2008 Chrysler 300 attempted to pass the farm tractor on the left. The two collided causing extensive damage to both the farm tractor and the car.
The driver’s of both vehicles were transported to Prowers Medical Center. The driver of the Chrysler 300 was identified as Lora Dimitt with a date of birth of 12-30-47. Dimitt sustained serious injuries from the crash and was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. The driver of the farm tractor was Dallas May with a date of birth of 10-18-58. May also sustained serious injuries from the crash and was shipped by ground transport to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs.
May was wearing his seatbelt, while Dimitt was not wearing her seatbelt. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected as a cause of this crash.
