Free Small Business Workshop at Lamar Community College

(Lamar, Colorado, April 2, 2013) Lamar Community College will host a free three-hour overview workshop for “Simple Steps for Growing your Business”. “Simple Steps for Growing your Business” is a six session workshop that follows last years’ “Simple Steps to Starting your Business.” The six sessions will be scheduled at the completion of the initial overview.

The workshop will be held from 10a to 1p on April 20 in Trustees 121 on the LCC campus. Seating is limited; make sure you reserve your seat by contacting Don Yoxsimer at 719.336.1548 or Don.Yoxsimer@lamarcc.edu.

“Simple Steps for Growing your Business” is an interactive program that provides small business owners and managers with the knowledge and tools necessary to switch their strategy from start-up to growth mode. The workshop will give in-business clients customized strategies through the mentoring of SCORE professionals. The workshop includes free mentoring, facilitated roundtable discussions, and in-class exercises.

A Pueblo SCORE team will present the workshop material and lead discussions. The Pueblo chapter is part of a national nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of the nation’s small businesses. It provides free and confidential business advice and counseling tailored to meet the needs of your small business and your personal objectives.

SCORE volunteers are real-world professionals with time-tested knowledge who donate thousands of hours to help small businesses succeed. Counselors are experts in such areas as accounting, finance, marketing, management and business plan preparation.

Lamar Community College would like to thank the 16 communities, lenders, and organizations whose partnership last spring brought the SCORE workshops to the area. They are:
