Friday, March 29
At 6:10 pm on Friday, March 29, the Lamar Fire Department was dispatched to 1106 Parkview for an unintentional smoke detector activation. At the scene, personnel were unable to find a fire; it was determined that the smoke alarm was activated by food burning on the stove.
Saturday, March 30
At 10:01 pm on Saturday, March 30, the Lamar Fire Department was dispatched to Ranchers Supply at 1005 E. Olive Street for an off-road vehicle or heavy equipment fire. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a working fire on the North side of the main business entrance. The units made forced entry by breaking the lock on the gate and proceeded to the North side of the building to extinguish the fire. When the fire was extinguished, it was found that a recreational vehicle was the material burning. Insurance information was found and the site cleared.
