At 11:54 am on Monday, April 15, the Lamar Fire Department was dispatched to 1106 S. Parkview for a fire alarm activation.  Upon arrival at the scene, fire personnel found the occupant in his home trying to clear the smoke.  The smoke was from burnt food and the occupant was unable to figure out how to shut off the smoke alarm.  Fire crews reset the alarm and helped to clear smoke from the home.

At 12:24 pm on Monday, April 15, the Lamar Fire Department was dispatched to 708 S. 9th Street in Lamar for a gas leak.  Units were dispatched to the alley of the residence for a trash truck that struck a gas meter.  Upon arrival the police were with the truck driver.  Fire personnel were able to secure the gas meter and stop the leak.  The gas company was notified and the matter turned over to them upon their arrival.
