The City of Lamar is having a silent auction on used city equipment from 9am to 11am, Saturday, April 20, in conjunction with the annual spring clean up day,
The auction items will be sold from the Cultural Events Center. Bidders will be required to register for their auction number. All sales are final and as-is. Linda Williams, Lamar City Clerk, explained that once the bidding has been closed at 11am, those who were successful bidders must take their items away that day. “Anything that is not sold is going out to the dump that afternoon,” she explained.
Items include an assortment of office desks and chairs, bicycles, lawnmowers, assorted computer equipment, an antique clothes washer with ringer, items for filing and storage, a flat screen tv, a movie projector and reels, electric typewriters and other assorted office equipment.
Williams stressed that there are no early-birds, no looky-loos or sneak peaks at the items will be allowed. Once everything has been rolled into the Cultural Events Center, the doors will be closed and open to the public once the auction gets underway at 9am Saturday.
