Kiowa County Crash Results in Serious Injuries

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a traffic crash involving a Dodge Intrepid that resulted in a serious bodily injury crash in Kiowa County.
The Dodge Intrepid was traveling westbound on Highway 96, approximately two miles west of Sheridan Lake. The vehicle went off the north side of the road rolling two times. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels, on top of a set of abandoned railroad tracks.
The driver was identified as 32 year-old David M. Crockett of Brandon, Colorado. Crockett was ejected during the accident and taken to Weisbrod Hospital in Eads. Crockett was later flown to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs with life threatening injuries.
Crockett was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Speed and alcohol are believed to be possible contributing factors to the crash.
