Geneva R. Higgins…May 22, 1933 – January 19, 2013

 A celebration of life memorial service for lifetime Prowers County resident, Geneva R. Higgins, will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday January 22, 2013 at the Peacock Family Chapel.  Reverend Dave Davis of the Lamar First Baptist Church will officiate the service.  A graveside in-urnment service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday January 23, 2013 at the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar. 

                Per Geneva’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation. 

                Geneva R. Higgins was born on May 22, 1933 to John and Florence Gettings and departed this life on Saturday January 19, 2013 at the Weisbrod Memorial Nursing Home in Eads, Colorado at the age of 80. 

Mrs. Higgins was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband – Daniel Higgins; and by two sons – Jackie Higgins and Stanley Higgins. 

Geneva R. Higgins is survived by three children – Danny (Jeannette Prete) Higgins of Escondido, CA; Janice Scott of Foley, AL; and Cathy (Jack Lewis) Higgins of Fairhope, AL; by eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and by numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

 Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Kiowa County Home Health either direct or through the funeral home office.
