Veteran’s Honors Set for Saturday at Fairmount Cemetery

The Peacock Funeral Home would like to invite the community to our second annual ceremony for Wreaths Across America will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 10:00AM in the Veteran’s Section at Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar. The Lamar VFW Post #3621, American Legion Post #71 as well as our local Cub Scout Pack #223 and Boy Scout Pack #218 will be there to assist in the ceremony.

Everyone is invited to join in honoring all the men and women who have served and are currently serving in the military.

The ceremony will coincide with the placement of wreaths in all 50 states from Maine to Alaska and Hawaii and at 24 national cemeteries on foreign soil.

Seven ceremonial wreaths will be placed to remember all soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines who served, honor their sacrifices and teach younger generations about the high cost of our freedoms.
