Lamar Police Arrest Local Man on Sex Assault Charges

On December 2, 2012, officers from the Lamar Police Department received a call about a sexual assault on a minor. Officers were advised a 20 year old subject, identified as Leonardo Dominguez of Lamar, had engaged in sexual activity with a juvenile.

Officers and detectives interviewed the victim and based upon the victim’s statements were able to secure a search warrant for Leonardo’s residence, where multiple items were collected for additional processing. Detectives interviewed Leonardo and a possible exculpatory witness.

Based upon the interviews an arrest warrant for Leonardo was obtained. Officers arrested Leonardo on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 and transported him to Prowers County Jail where he is being held on a $75,000 any type bond.
