Lamar Chamber Citizen of the Year Award

Area residents have just under a month to submit their entry for the annual Lamar Chamber of Commerce, Citizen of the Year award. The deadline is January 11, 2013 for the announcement of the winner during the annual chamber banquet on Thursday, January 24 at the Rodeway Cow Palace Inn in Lamar.

A confidential panel makes their selection from all the entries. Some of the deciding criteria in their selection include the contribution the person made to the Prowers County area and how, through those efforts, the community became a better place to work and live. Other areas of interest include the nominee’s involvement in the community through civic participation and their accomplishments. A biographical background of the nominee is also requested, plus a contact name if more information is requested, as well as name, profession or position of the individual and the company which employs them.
